Body Work
Through EMDR and body-based therapies, we gently process trauma stored in both the mind and body.

EMDR
This modality is for someone who experiences intrusive thoughts, memories of bodily sensations, such as rapid heart rate when triggered by a disturbing memory of a life event(s). Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured psychotherapy that can assist you in processing and healing from traumatic or distressing life experiences. It involves recalling a traumatic memory while engaging in bilateral stimulation, typically through guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory cues. This process is believed to help the brain reprocess stuck or unprocessed memories, in a way that reduces emotional impact, allowing them to be stored in a more adaptive and less distressing way. EMDR does not require detailed discussion of the trauma, making it accessible for people who may find it difficult to talk about painful events. Research has shown EMDR to be highly effective in treating PTSD, as well as anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related conditions. Many clients report quicker relief compared to traditional talk therapy, with lasting emotional and psychological benefits.
Somatic Experience
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-focused therapy that helps individuals heal from trauma by increasing awareness of physical sensations and nervous system responses. It supports the release of stored stress and tension, reducing the feelings of being ‘stuck’, without needing to retell traumatic events in detail. SE encourages the completion of natural fight, flight, or freeze responses that were disrupted during trauma. Benefits include reduced symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and chronic stress, along with greater emotional resilience and a sense of safety in the body. It promotes a deeper sense of safety, embodiment, and connection to the present moment.

Somatic Experience Touch
Somatic Experiencing Touch Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that supports the nervous system in releasing trauma by using safe, therapeutic touch. It helps clients attune to internal sensations and access deeper layers of stored tension and emotional memory. This method can restore a sense of safety, connection, and regulation in the body. Benefits include reduced anxiety, chronic pain, and dissociation, as well as improved emotional balance and physical well-being.
